Making friends, as an adult is difficult without the social bonds that connect us to others as parents, many of us feel have the first move in different social life. Give a smile to people who take the same bus every day or start the conversation with others with strangers.
However, if you look into your life, you would gradually realize that it’s easy to make friends in particular group. You like reading books, you make friends the book club, you like playing football, go to make friends the football club. Or you like cycling, you can make the friend in cycling club easily. People who have particularly interested may easy to make the friend in that area.
On the contrary, being an expected or pro in that areas, everyone wants to become friends with you too. Today, we’re going to talk about the secret to being a cyclist that everyone wants to become friends.
As I talked about in the beginning, people who can make friend easier in the particular group. Because each us has the similar interests and relevant experience.
Connecting with new people can help you get more out of life. You’ll have more support systems that know what you’re going through and can share your trials and story with you. Especially if your hobbies include staying in shape, with health hobby, surrounding yourself with others who want to do the same can be a great motivator.
Friendships blossoming on the basis of similar ideas, outlooks or tastes may seem intuitive, but that intuition is deceiving.
Pick up your bike for riding; you will meet people with different experience and different background. It’s easy to get into the conversation and make it into a good friendship.
2.Threads of personality
People like to make friends who have a good personality, in other words: you could only make a friend who has the similar personality like yours. Maybe you have a similar hobby, maybe you have the same value, and maybe you have some belief systems. More or less, your friend and you have the comments things in life or in your personality aspect.
Threads of the personality of your cycling journey help you get more friends who attractive by that.
Let’s break down a little bit:
Being a cyclist that everyone likes to be friends, your friends see good personality from you, your self-esteem helps you get things step by step consistently.
Most of the time, however, we are not lacking for ideas on where to meet people. We are missing the motivation, confidence, and self-esteem to get started.
For this reason, for road bike cyclists or mountain bike cyclist, you go out to meet people and get started on your riding, you realized you should go out for different reasons, you take action on it and make friends who like riding at the same time.
Your self-esteem makes you into a better person; at least have one particular skill to personal development in the long term.
You understand what you want in your life, you find that reconnecting with themselves is a prerequisite to reconnecting with others.
For me, I felt something months ago, and start riding with my cycling friends almost every early morning. I got up at 5:30 AM and start my new days with biking exercise before jump into a busy day.
Our mind was designed to stop you at all cost from doing anything that might hurt you. I hear it from Mel Robbins. We have a hobby of hesitating, it just starts from that macro moment, thing change. Your life comes down to your decisions. And if you change your decisions, you will change everything.
2) Result driven
Everyone wants to become friends with cyclists, one of the important things from his or her personality is they’re result driven and always can get things done when they commit into.
For people who have goal oriented, he or she would have a clear target and measure outcomes they achieve they achieve, importantly, they get into finding how can get the good results.
If you had driving experience, you could much more clear on this points, every time you going out, you have to clear on where you want to go and how can get there. That’s the same for riding. You set up your destination, and riding there alone or riding with a group.
3.Love to help others
When we help others, we felt great.
From the studies “ The Helper’s High” by Sander Van Der Linden, Why it feels so good to give, the article shows that when people donated to charity, the mesolimbic system, the portion of the brain responsible for the feeling of reward, was triggered. The brain also releases feel-good chemicals and spurs you to perform more kind acts.
Most of the cyclist I know about in my life, they have open-minded people. They love their life and also love to help others.
Give the first move to help others and present our value to other people who need the help in the right time.
4.Cycling is social
When we ask people to assess how happy they are and then look at what they do in their lives, we find that people who have strong social connections are happier. That’s the first thing we think about.
Then we wonder, well, why?
To keep it as specific, we take the cycling as examples. When you look into your cycling friends, most of them are happy when you catch up for regular riding or you go out for the bike race. Life is busy with different stuff here and there when you addicted into cycling you love about, you generate most of your attention and energy into riding with that moment in your macro world.
During the cycling, you enjoy very much, if you measure hormones and activity in the body and the brain when people are being helpful or cooperating, you can see that pleasure happens. We’re hard-wired to be generous with others.
Cycling is the social actives that get you happy wired and get to know more people easier with the same hobby. When you have race event/ active for 2 days training or longer period, it gathers a bunch of people who like the riding, it’s good opportunity to make more friends.
Cyclists are knowledgeable so people who like to make friend with them?
OK, I know you’re puzzle about it a little bit. Let me explain to you.
1) Ability on learning
I put “Knowledgeable” as one of the secrets to being a cyclist that everyone wants to become friends. Because of regular riding exercise slowly but surely could impact to cyclists learning an ability in the daily life.
Ride, work, ride, repeat. It’s scientifically proven system that unleashes some unexpected benefits of cycling.
Riding grows your mind when you pedal it often. How ?
Your neurons cells light up, it literally building your brain capacity to learn new things quickly and gain new skills faster than people who do not have regular sporting.
Sharper memory skills, higher concentration levels, and more fluid thinking are 3 key common characters when I looked into most of the cycling friends around.
2) Knowledge about bicycle
We’re not aiming to train as bicycle expects, but from your experience, you gain more knowledge about your own bike. You will be good at bicycle maintenance and riding skills.
Owning a bicycle requires basic maintenance and care. If done properly, your bicycle should last for many years to come, and if not, will wear out prematurely and cost more to repair.
Your bicycle knowledge and compiled a list of comprehensive riding guides enlarge your knowledge basic, in some situation your friends had bicycle problems, you can possibly offer the help because you know it and you understand how to repair and improve it.
3) Knowledge about safe
The cyclist is knowledgeable, it impacts on their safety awareness in the daily life. It’s from the cycling experience.
As we all know, the more we experience in life, the more information we will gain. No matter your learning by the system or learning it from people who get around. That’s the way we gain the knowledge inside and outside of “ Class”.
In the most MTB cycling event, there is the medical team out there to support all athletes safety, the paramedics and ambulance are all there with a lot of professional treatment in the right time.
BUT, out of the cycling event when you do some regular training with your friends or alone. How to avoid serious injury if you crash from the bike? How to get out of helpless feeling after bike crashes happen?
To prepare yourself a handy bicycle first aid kit would save your time, money and stress. In the group riding, in my opinion, at least have 1 cycling medical kit would get the team riding smart and safe.
First aid is the assistance given to any person suffering a sudden injury, with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, and/or promote recovery. Before the professional medical help is available, at least you can do something by yourself or have first aid kit to help others.
In the outdoor cycling or bike road trip, bicycle first aid kit would be perfect for emergency wound management if you have essential cleaning wipes, bandages, and gauze as cycling first aid kit content.
Here’s my list:
- PRESSURE BANDAGES—–for stop bleeding
- NON-ADHERING WOUND DRESSING—for small cut
- ANTISEPTIC TOWLETTES—-for clean wounds
- EASY ACCESS BANDAGES (IN VARIOUS SIZES)—-for scratches
- BUTTERFLY WOUND CLOSURES— for scratches
- JUNIOR EASY ACCESS BANDAGE— for scratches
- STERILE NON-ADHERENT PADS—–for small cut/ medium cuts
- STERILE NON-WOVEN SPONGES —for small cut/ medium cuts
- STERILE GAUGE PAD —for small cut/ medium cuts
- STERILE EYE PAD—for eyes injury
- TRIANGULAR BANDAGE—dislocation first aid
- MEDICAL GLOVES—protection
The list is not limited, you still can add other items you can think of from your cycling experience and your own particular cycling first aid situation.
6. Attraction start from “happy” vibe
Do you believe people attractive people?
When it comes to attraction, it’s not surprising to learn that one’s physical appearance plays an integral role. To keep it short, behaviors that attract people the most.
Your behaviors created your Visual Chemistry when you get to know someone in your life. I like to make friends with someone who could maintain their own life by cycling, have a particular hobby in the spared time and enjoy what they’re doing.
Happiness is one of the good vibes that attracted other people. We all want to make a friend who can bring happiness to you instead of making a friend who complains to you always, isn’t it?
When you cycling out happily, you attract people who go out together.
So what’s the solution?
Enjoy the conversation for what it is when you communicate with your cycling pal or new friends. Put your best self forward and enjoy things you’re doing. Meanwhile, use the positive words in your language hobby. In the long term, it will impact your good life.
7.Good looking or good body shape
For most of the cyclist who has regular riding, they have a good body shape. Sports exercise consistently keeps your losing weight and gaining muscle.
Weight loss is one of the most challenges for everyone. One of the main reasons why so many people struggle to lose weight is not because they are idle or greedy but because their muscles have become resistant to insulin. Insulin is a hormone produced by your pancreas. It controls your blood sugar levels, but it does far more than that. It also controls fat storage.
There is no overnight success, that’s the same that there is no overnight to build up the body shape through cycling. To improve your performance in the saddle, you’ll need a reference point early on in your conditioning programmer to mark your progress by.
People think this is just about your natural looks, and it’s not true.
It’s about how you’re perceived.
There is no doubt that we all like to make friends with nice look people. I know it’s better not to judge someone by their appearance, but unconsciously our mind would tell us something when you make new friends from their appearance before getting to know each other better.
It’s about how you walk, talk, move, what your body language conveys – and there’s a lot we can do in each of these to influence how attractive we are perceived to be. This is also affected by your health, your nutrition, your fitness and how well you groom and take care of your body.
All of those small effects can give our brain a signal that this person do sport often nor not and self-love to some points.
